The Ottawa Black Bears is one of two Canadian MLQ franchises. They are based in Ottawa, Canada and recruit predominantly from Ottawa and Montreal. The Black Bears, also known as the sweethearts of MLQ, practice in Ottawa and are a member of the MLQ East Division. The team was one of the first MLQ franchises, making their appearance during the inaugural 2015 MLQ season under the management of Clare Hutchinson and coach Jamie Lafrance.
