Players to Watch: Week 5

Week five signifies the midway point of the season. This week, we have a major matchup between the Washington Admirals and the Charlotte Aviators at 6 PM ET in the nation’s capitol. With both teams having qualified for Buffalo and seeding in the East Division on the line, here are some players to watch this weekend.

Washington Admirals: Bryan Mulcahy (#10)

Few chasers have had as much success against the Charlotte Aviators than Bryan Mulcahy. Mulcahy, over the past two seasons, has been the leading scorer in this series. Over the past two summers, he’s put up 80 points and 70 points. Last season, Mulcahy was also a top defender, leading both teams in the number of chaser stops with seven. Mulcahy has been nothing short of dominant against the Aviators. This season, he is leaving his mark across the league, being in the top three for both scoring and stops among all chasers. Look for Mulcahy to continue thriving this weekend.

Charlotte Aviators: Melissa Ross (#39)

When the Aviators are flying high, Melissa Ross is always on the flight crew. Over the past two seasons, Ross has been one of the top scorers for the Aviators, finishing as one of six highest in points on the team in both 2023 and 2024. That trend seems to be continuing in 2025 after Charlotte's opener against the Forge. Against the Admirals last summer, Ross finished with a hat trick and three stops. The importance of Ross to an Aviators’ win cannot be overstated, and if Charlotte wants to shock Washington in DC, Ross will need to continue her leading role for the Aviators.
