Ottawa Black Bears Cross-Border Travel Update
The Ottawa Black Bears have opted to forfeit their series against the New York Titans and Charlotte Aviators, originally scheduled for July 19–20, due to ongoing concerns around cross-border travel into the U.S. under the current administration. Each forfeit will count as a 65-0 loss for Ottawa. The East Division SuperSeries will become a two-team series between New York and Charlotte and take place on July 19. The exact time and location will be announced this month.
MLQ has consulted an immigration attorney in the New York area regarding cross-border travel for all of our teams and, while the attorney does not foresee any issues, the league respect’s Ottawa’s decision and will continue to work with the franchise on future travel concerns.
Ottawa will still be active participants in the 2025 MLQ season. Their first series will be against the Washington Admirals on Saturday, June 21.
